Older puppies need help, too!

Updated: Oct 6, 2023

We can't forget MENDOCINO COAST HUMANE SOCIETY! They accepted 4 of our older pups into their program where they will get all the social skills they need to get adopted and become cherished family members. One set of puppies that appear to be Border Collie mixes were found abandoned way out in the mountains. They have been with us for about 3 weeks. We started their vaccination and deworming regimen. MCHS is taking it from there. These sweet pups will make someone wonderful companions.

These Border Collie mix pups will be available for adoption soon. Check with MCHS for details.

We had heard about these two pups living on their own at a "favorite dumping" place called Short Creek Road crossing. They had been seen for well over a week and would run into the brush if anyone tried to get them. A friend and animal advocate was able to coax them to her and brought them to us. They were very frightened and shut down at first.

They were exhausted from trying to survive on their own and did a good amount of sleeping nestled in the straw. They needed time to decompress and realize they were safe.

These two, although not littermates bonded with each other in their difficult and traumatic time surviving on their own. The white and gold one is a girl, possibly a Jack Russell mix and the black one is a boy that shows some Doxie traits, having a long body and short legs. They will be small dogs. Once they felt safe, fed and comfortable they started to relax and come to the front of the kennel for attention. They are super sweet and will be awesome little companions.,

We are grateful to MCHS for supporting us by taking these puppies into their care so they can find wonderful homes. Go to their website at mendocinohumane.org and donate if you can so they can save more pups like these. We can rescue them and get them started toward health and happiness, but we rely on our friends at MCHS to carry them forward to their homes.

Just look at them now!

They have only been over at MCHS for a day and the look so clean, bright and happy. Their whole attitude can change so quickly when they get love and care.
