When we are called on to help any sick or injured animals we GO! The pup was only three months old and had been run over by a car. It was obvious that he had sustained a badly fractured leg. In cases like this, time is of the essence. We worried about how we would pay for his surgery and follow up care. Faith in our supporters carried us through to make the right decision for this little guy who we have named Vinnie. Our pleas for help to fund Vinnie's surgery were answered. Vinnie had surgery, which consisted of pins being placed down the middle of the femur with a wire around to help hold secure while healing. The pins will be removed when healing is complete. This is a tough time for any puppy his age. When he should be able to play and explore instead he has to be under strict crate rest to allow his fracture repair to heal. He is one of the sweetest pups we have had the pleasure of helping. He is taking his recovery confinement like a champ. We're supplying him with endless chew toys and lots of love. He has completed 4 1/2 weeks of healing and is doing well.
Vinnie is continuing to heal, while being the bestest boy! He has more weeks until he will be cleared to be a normal puppy playing and enjoying life again.
