The barnyard is always a busy place here at the sanctuary. We have a wide variety of chores to do to keep things running smoothly.
With such a wide variety of animals to care for, there is always feed to haul, water troughs and buckets to clean, fly repellent to apply, mowing and weed whacking, plus the inevitable manure to pick up.
Some sanctuary residents need extra care like special foods, medications and housing, usually due to age or disabilities. Maintenance like frequent hoof trimming, dental care, and vaccinations help keep our residents in good health. We have old-timers, and not-so-old-timers living out their lives here.
As sad as it is to lose one when age and infirmities take their toll, we take comfort knowing they lived their best lives here until the end.
Just like people - some are funny, some are rascals, some are cranky - but ALL enjoy living a peaceful life here.
The barnyard section of the sanctuary houses horses, goats, and an elderly rabbit named Velvet.
We try to make each and every one have the best life possible. Your donations make it possible for us to provide for their lifelong care.
