This morning we got an emergency call from our friend Esther saying she saw some tiny puppies in the road by the reservation. When she stopped her car they ran into a culvert pipe. She asked what should she do? Of course, we told her to bring them over. There are seven of them.
They are very young, were very hungry and crawling with fleas. They were lucky that she saw them because the fleas have just about drained them of blood. The day was taken up getting the fleas off , deworming them, trying to get them to eat and making them comfortable on a heating pad for the night. They are only about 4 weeks old not used to solid food or being handled. I tried to see if they would take a bottle, but only one would. But, tonight finally they ate some canned food with formula on it. I hope they have more energy tomorrow.
We're hoping to bring them to health so they will be able to go up for adoption when they are old enough. We can't help puppies and other animals like this without your help.
