Although I'm sad to say we have another broken kitten, we are honored to be able to help this little girl back to health. She was found yesterday unable to stand, lying flat on her side in the road. Despite her condition she is a happy little one who makes muffins and purrs when she receives any attention. Upon closer examination we found her little bottom was being eaten up by maggots. Thus, she has earned the name "Maggie". She appears to have a fractured pelvis and possible radial nerve damage to her left front leg.
She will need a comprehensive work up but in the meatime she is eating and drinking and seems to be a happy little soul who is grateful for any attention and help she gets.
This photo was when she first came to us. You can see she is a little stressed and uncomfortable.
She is looking more at ease after the maggots were removed, antibiotic ointment applied to her bottom and a good meal. She slept good last nite and ate a good breakfast this morning. She's definitely a little trooper!
Thank you so much
